The Friendly Bar

The Friendly Bar is a neighborhood gay bar in New Orleans’ Marigny/Bywater area, just a few blocks from the French Quarter. It’s very much a local hangout, with plenty of regulars and repeat customers, but tourists are warmly welcomed too. The bartenders are easy to chat with, so you won’t feel like an outsider if you’re not from the neighborhood.

Drinks are inexpensive, and there’s outdoor seating beneath a ceiling of string lights and rainbow flags. Food vendors set up outside several nights a week, with a rotating lineup serving fresh food.
