POSE Club

I live in Chengdu and was there only once. It is not a disco but a huge club suited to the need of the locals. Groups of seats of 6-8 people around a table full of beers and spirits. Very loud music, no dancing, some performances on stage. Chinese guys never go out on their own, but with their friends and they stay together and leave together. No English spoken, so for foreign tourists it is not really of interest.

The bouncer refused to let us in, giving a standard „cannot enter without reservation” line. Other people did enter without any checks or whatsoever, so clearly it was about us being foreigners. If I were 60, I would assume it’s only for a young crowd but I’m 30ish, so my guess is that they don’t want foreigners…

A great international-quality club in the heart of one of the entertainment districts in Chengdu. It’s a bit hard to find but the address is correct. Try looking for another western bar called “The Underground” and it’s behind that. We went on a Saturday night and had to pay a fee to enter which was discounted for 2 people together and came with 2 drinks each. We appeared to be the only foreigners in the bar with most groups of friends in tables which made it a bit hard to socialize, but at the same time we weren’t being super outgoing either.
